Plan your week in one sentence.

For example: Dinners for the next 5 days, keep it cheap. I've got a pack of chicken thighs and half a bag of spinach to use up.

Whipped read that as
  • 5 days
  • Dinner
  • Starting today
  • ✓ Use what I have

Whipped is a meal planner for iPhone. It plans the meals around who’s eating, what you avoid and what’s already in your kitchen, writes each recipe when you’re ready to cook, and puts what you need on one shopping list.

Whipped's plan screen for that sentence: “5-Day Budget Dinners Using Chicken & Pantry”, a note on how the meals share ingredients, a prompt to track the chicken thighs and spinach in Kitchen, and the first dinner, Spiced Chicken Thigh & Cilantro Rice.
The plan Whipped made from that sentence.

How it works

  1. Tell it how you cook

Set up once: allergies, any diet you follow, cooking skill, how many people you feed, and the equipment you own beyond the basics. Rate how much convenience, money and flavor matter. After that, every plan starts with one sentence.

Whipped profile setup: allergy chips for peanut and shellfish, dietary options, cooking skill set to Intermediate, and household size 3.
  2. It plans

Whipped plans the days as one set of meals: ingredients overlap so you buy less, leftovers turn into later meals, and food that is about to go off gets used first. The plan shows up on the week strip on Home. Tap a meal and its full recipe is written then.

Whipped's Home screen: a week strip with one dinner planned on each of five days, and today's meal, Spiced Chicken Thigh & Cilantro Rice, marked recipe ready.
  3. It shops

Add the week to Shopping and every recipe merges into one list, with matching ingredients combined. Things you already have arrive checked off instead of disappearing, so you can confirm at a glance. Share the list, or send it to an online grocery cart. TODO: confirm grocery cart send is live at launch

Whipped shopping list for one recipe: chicken thighs, rice, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil and cilantro are pre-checked because they are on hand; spinach, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper and a lime are still to buy.

A plan, not a pile of recipes

Each plan comes with a short note on how the meals fit together. This is the note from the plan above, word for word:

5-Day Budget Dinners Using Chicken & Pantry

This plan chains the chicken thighs across dinners 1–3 and the leftover roast chicken into dinner 2, using both poultry to front-load protein spend. Cilantro, Greek yogurt, and spinach are used across multiple meals to maximize one shopping trip and minimize waste. Cabbage appears twice for bulk and cost efficiency. The roast chicken (3-day expiry) is consumed by day 2, and cilantro (4-day expiry) by day 3, ensuring nothing spoils.

Example sentences from the app’s planning box.

One sentence sets up the plan

Days, meals and start date have defaults you can tap. Anything you say in the sentence overrides them, including how cheap or quick you want this week to be.

The note shown on every recipe: Avoids: peanut, shellfish. Always check product labels — Whipped can't guarantee any product is allergen-free.

Allergens are checked, not just requested

Every plan and recipe is checked against your allergy list on Whipped’s server before you see it. If a version fails the check it’s rewritten, and if none passes you get an error instead of a recipe. Diets like vegetarian or halal go into every request. Still check product labels yourself.

The week strip from the app's Home screen: seven days, Tuesday the 6th through Monday the 12th, with one planned dinner on each of the first five days. Below it, the meal-slot choices breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack, with dinner selected.

The week at a glance

Plan 3, 5 or 7 days of breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, starting today or tomorrow. Plans land on the week strip on Home; tap a day to see its meals and which are planned, ready to cook or cooked.

The Kitchen tab. Use these first: leftover roast chicken, about 3 days left. Leftovers and odds-and-ends: cilantro, about 4 days left; plain greek yogurt, about 6 days left; half a head of cabbage, about 13 days left. Staples: garlic and jasmine rice checked as on hand, eggs not checked.
A recipe suggestion, Crispy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Thighs, with the warning: Needs air fryer — not in your kitchen, and the option Adapt it anyway.

Knows your kitchen and your gear

Kitchen keeps a short list of leftovers and odds-and-ends with an estimated use-by, plus the staples you keep around. Plans use up what’s expiring first. Suggestions that need equipment you don’t have are flagged before you cook.
